Donations sought for fire relief fundraiser

Local business owners are continuing to roll up their sleeves to help fire affected families get back on their feet after the devastating St Patrick’s Day fires.

Snout in the Trough owners Jarrod and Justine Bell are coordinating their second fire relief fundraiser, which will be held at St Paul’s Parish Hall in Camperdown on Saturday, June 23.

The evening will comprise a Goods and Services Auction, as well as live entertainment by the Pete Daffy Band.

Jarrod, Justine and other event partners are currently seeking donations for the auction, which will be carried out by local auctioneer Clayton Horspole.

To date, donations include artworks, farm supplies and assistance, fashion, accommodation, electrical goods and furniture.

“We would appreciate donations by Friday the 8th of June, so we can provide an online auction catalogue,” Justine said.

“We will be offering some items for silent auction, with others offered on the evening as part of a live auction.”

This is the second fire relief fundraiser coordinated by Snout in the Trough, following a successful Breakfast BBQ fundraiser for BlazeAid on March 29.

“We raised $2760 for BlazeAid in March, which was made possible by some of our amazing suppliers,” Justine said.

“This time all proceeds will be donated to the Bendigo Bank South West Victoria Community Relief Fund, which will determine the best use of funds to best assist fire victims.”

The Relief Fund includes representatives of Corangamite Shire, Cobden Health Service, Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank and the Department of Health and Human Services.
