We’re excited to be offering our first ever full time chef’s position at Snout in the Trough in Camperdown.
If you’re a qualified cook or chef who is passionate about food, follows current trends and can demonstrate experience in a commercial kitchen then we’d love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will work 38 hours in our kitchen and have every Sunday and Monday off – as well as public holidays.
They will work alongside owner/head chef Jarrod, but be able to run the kitchen, complete stock ordering and perform other key duties in Jarrod’s absence.
It will be important for the chef/cook to demonstrate experience in a cafe or restaurant with a la carte food preparation. They will need good knife skill and be able to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
Demonstrated experience with pastries and baking is preferred, but not essential. Experience with the preparation of condiments, sauces, stocks and other products from scratch would also be an advantage.
Good communications skills will be critical – as will good personal hygiene and a positive can-do attitude.
Remuneration will be negotiated at, or above, the award rate depending on experience.
