Position Vacant | Chef/Cook

We are currently looking for a part time chef/cook who can demonstrate experience in a commercial kitchen.

The successful applicant will work 20-25 hours each week in our kitchen.

He or she will work cooperatively in a small team, but also have the ability to work independently and to run the kitchen unsupervised on occasion.

It will be important for the chef/cook to show experience in a cafe or restaurant with a la carte food preparation.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with seasonal produce, showcasing local gourmet produce and who has an eye for detail.

Experience with the preparation of condiments, sauces, stocks and other products from scratch would be an advantage.

Demonstrated experience with pastries and baking is preferred, but not essential.

The successful candidate will be available for functions, evening work and occasional weekends. They will present well, display good personal hygiene and have a positive can-do attitude.

Remuneration will be negotiated at, or above, the award rate depending on experience.
